Who are UKSA?

UKSA is a registered charity which believes in the power of the sea to make a positive change. They offer young people of all ages and abilities a fun, safe outdoor environment in which to learn important life skills and to excel.

Based on the Isle of Wight, UKSA programmes are centred on watersports and team building and designed to develop a range of skills. Their aim is to encourage, support and inspire young people by introducing them to the challenges, enjoyment and rewards of watersports in a structured, happy, aspirational environment.

For the 2nd year running E-ACT are delighted to be offering the “THINK BIG” UKSA residential trip to all our Year 5 pupils in 2020. This was a hugely successful programme in 2019 and we are the first Multi Academy Trust to offer a trip of this nature to all our Y5 pupils. As a trust we are acutely aware of the value that learning outside the classroom brings – particularly on a residential trip. The “THINK BIG” residential offers a unique experience to every single child.

Benefits for our pupils

  • Personal development – builds confidence and self-esteem, resilience, independence
  • Skills Building, being outdoors
  • Catalyst for change – different scenery, new experiences, building relationships with teachers and classmates
  • Curriculum links – can create points of reference for children’s imagery for writing
  • Careers inspiration, extra curricular inspiration – children who attended have gone on to take paddle boarding lessons and take up other new water based sports
