Our curriculum is balanced, teaching children to recognise and develop talents in the creative subjects as well as in English and Mathematics.
Our teachers and teaching assistants bring with them their own areas of expertise and we ensure the children benefit from this through the way we structure our afternoon sessions. If a teacher is particularly skilled at teaching music, they teach music to all the pupils in that year group and not just the children in that particular class.
Learning doesn’t only happen in the academy building. Each term every year group either goes on an off-site visit or has an outside visitor in to bring learning to life. In addition to this Year 6 pupils go on a five day residential where they take part in a wide range of cross-curricular activities. Learning through educational visits and visitors means that children are more engaged and are inspired to learn.
