Art week once again was a great success, with both Art and culture being explored right across the curriculum. The week started with a bang when the ‘Art Ninja’ from CBBC gave a surprise appearance at KS2 and KS1/Early Year’s assemblies, where the children played a collaborative game of ‘Consequences’ and then made a funny animation. The week continued with every year group having a least one visiting artist from potters and drummers to an Aardman model builder. Year 6 were once again given the opportunity to put their mark on the school by adding to the wall of graffiti on the bottom playground wall. They worked alongside the ‘Paintsmiths’ to design and ‘spray’ a piece of art expressing what Art/creativity means to them. The children grasped every opportunity with enthusiasm and a smile. All in all an outstanding experience for the children, staff and artists alike, and with comments like ‘the best behaved kids’ and ‘the kids were brilliant and polite’, we can all finish the week feeling very proud!
